GRAND PRAIRIE PUMP STATION

BACKGROUND

In the summer of 2012, Schrimpf Landscaping partnered with SINE WALL to create a large pump station with tall walls and various backfill conditions on a tight schedule for the Army Corp of Engineers.

DOWNTOWN LOUISVILLE OHIO RIVER BRIDGES

LOUISVILLE, KY

BACKGROUND

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet contracted Walsh Construction to alleviate congestion on I-64 & I-65. Given project complexity with right of way and traffic maintenance, Walsh chose SINE WALL as a trusted partner to serve as the full service wall provider to the design team.

CATS LYNX BLUE LINE EXTENSION – SEGMENT B/C

CHARLOTTE, NC

BACKGROUND

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) extended the LYNX Blue Line light rail from uptown Charlotte northeast to the campus of UNC-Charlotte. The rail system design ran through the middle of Tryon Road, one of the most heavily traveled in greater Charlotte. CATS contracted Lane Construction, who chose Tricor Construction and SINE WALL as wall supplier due to the complexity in design and aesthetics required.

HIGHWAY 40/64 FROM KINGS HIGHWAY TO VANDEVENTER AND JEFFERSON BRIDGE

ST. LOUIS, MO

BACKGROUND

In an effort to improve traffic flow, the Missouri DOT, along with Shriners Hospital, BJC and Washington University, expanded the highway 40/64 redevelopment from Kings Highway through Jefferson. Millstone Weber partnered with SINE WALL to design and deliver MSE walls that support the adjacent properties and enhance downtown aesthetics.

This design build project was situated in a flood plain which required the settlement to be closely monitored as the walls were installed. With cost a primary concern, Rosch Company chose SINE WALL for design and build of both panel and wire walls.

LESNER BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

The city of Virginia Beach identified Lesner Bridge for replacement due to structural deficiency and obsolete functionality. With extensive corrosion and heavy traffic on the bridge, SINE WALL was contracted to quickly and efficiently complete this vital project.

To keep up with the Jefferson City’s increasing transportation demands, Route 50 required bridge and ramp rehabilitation. Each bridge featured various design cases and technicalities. Emery Sapp & Sons chose SINE WALL to deliver multiple MSE solutions in difficult design scenarios.

BACKGROUND

With the help of the Kansas DOT, the City of Wichita added a flyover ramp from the City’s main north/south highway to the local zoo. Dondlinger & Sons contracted SINE WALL to navigate the structural and aesthetic challenges of the project.

Engineers in Waterloo, Iowa sought to improve the cityscape with a system of trails and pedestrian walkways. SINE WALL was a key partner in delivering the design and supply of retaining walls created to support bridges, culverts, and roadways along the redesigned thoroughfare.

I-29 SIOUX CITY

BACKGROUND

The aging I-29 bridge in Sioux City ferries heavy traffic between Iowa & Nebraska. Reconstruction of this bridge needed to meet strict deadlines while still satisfying a high aesthetic standard. SINE WALL provided the engineering and retaining walls for the first phase of this multi-year project.

TDOT I-26 & SR 75 INTERCHANGE (EXIT 13)

JOHNSON CITY, TN

BACKGROUND

Tennessee DOT partnered with SINE WALL for the first time for the reconstruction of the SR 75 interchange on Interstate 26 in Johnson City. The project required reconstruction of Exit 13 and two new exit ramps for both sides of the highway.

ROUTE 43

JASPER COUNTY, MO

BACKGROUND

After the EF5 tornado hit Joplin in 2011 major reconstruction efforts were devoted for hospitals, businesses, and local infrastructure. Lehman Brothers was chosen to develop the Zora St. interchange at Route 43 featuring tall MSE walls & expansive bridges. JLA Construction and SINE WALL partnered on the MSE wall system.

The intersection of 90 & 290 in downtown Chicago experiences heavy traffic 24-hours a day. Due to this challenge, Illinois engineers utilized a flyover ramp system design with a SINE WALL MSE wall system to alleviate traffic.
